Whoa, it's wednesday already! The day started quite well, I was awake early. Jessica (my co-worker) and me went to the office straight ahead, but because we didn't yet possess the key to the office we had to wait some time until we got in.
Work was mainly about creating the directory structure for the webserver, uploading some
PEAR packages,
phpMyAdmin and setup the database and inject some basic templates and skeleton files.
And I was really happy to have the ability to chat with Emba this day, because she got
ICQ2Go working in her university-library. Great.
Jose, Jessica and me went to an italian restaurant for lunch, where I got myself a Peperoni-Salami Pizza, which was really tasty. But at a cost of 7 pounds (11 Euro) this should be! Thoughb the atmosphere was quite nice there, which reminded me to take pictures more often!
After the work we (Jose and me) went straight to the cinema in West End, something like the "centre-centre" of London. We went there by bus and it exciting to see the transition of simple suburbs with ragged-down houses over to nice restaurants, impressive buildings and broader streets full of life. I was really caught by the city-core and immediately decided that I had to explore that area by foot as soon as possible. There were shops all over, and I hope to get to see them from the inside. There were also some quite nice avenues with beautiful houses, completely different from the look of houses just two or three streets away.
Now we went to see the movie
Underworld which I will discuss later on.
Then Jose took me to SoHo, were we had a coffee and a cute-little mini-bagle for just 3 pounds. I really think I should just disregard the prices at all, or I won't have any fun at all.
We chatted about movies, books and computer games for some time and had some real fun. I'm feeling well here
Afterwards we walked the streats of SoHo and I saw that nearly every restaurant there have bouncers standing in front of them, which we only have for clubs in germany. Jose told me that they were needed to keep those people out who could behave uneasy, which may happen some time. Didn't know that brits are that careful...
So I was really mind-blown about the huge amounts of shops and streets in the inner city, and hope to get them to see more closely (and open!). Time to get earlier out of the office the next day.
