At work I built the basic user authentification and user object classes for the project, which took me most of the day. After having done that, my plan was to inspect a bit of the area around, because my throat-aches finally went away.
So I left Broadway Market in the late afternoon (at about 5pm) and first went to the canal nearby. I walked around somewhat aimless and took quite a few photographs finally. Most of them were not that exciting, because the locations nearby were not that impressive. So I wanted to see what was around and maybe try to find something nice to eat. Which didn't work very well - so even after one hour of walking I only saw small and tiny shops and some groceries, as well as some bad-looking Dönerbuden. I'm already curious what they put in there in germany where a Döner is looking good, so I didn't want to find out how a Döner tasted here, were it already looked bad.
Now my plan was to find a good place to sit on and look through my map, to see where I was going. Which wasn't easy as well, because I didn't find any nice place to sit. Either the places where too croweded or there were no chairs or the like to sit on. That's weird. But at least I got to a local supermarket called Sainsbury, a large one. I bought some Pringles, Cashews and Cookies(!!!) for me, which I had to eat during walking - because there was nothing to sit on, as I mentioned.
It seemed to me like an endless walk until I finally got closer to larger buildings and nice offices, until I got aware that I was near the giant cucumber, near Liverpool Street where I arrived on Monday. I thought, then I could go easily home from there on, and know the way, but of course I got lost and took a wrong turn somewhere. I tried to paint down where I walked around on the map on the righ, so click on it to see the larger version.
My pictures of London can now be found
here and I will try to constantly update the gallery there every day.
So now I'm back at our home and will eventually go to bed soon...and watch one of the Angel episodes.
I'm already happy for tomorrow, because I'm going to make a call to Emba, as I couldn't call her earlier on a non-mobile connection. Yippie!
